The purpose of this introductory, one-hour session to Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is to provide the student with a general vision of the eight-week course.  Information regarding the benefits of MBSR and its principal aspects will be presented and briefly practiced. Basic techniques of MBSR or Mindfulness covered in this session include breathing techniques, meditation, yoga, and mindful walking and eating. After having attended this introductory session, the participant will be more knowledgeable about the course and be better prepared for the class.
